PAWS of CNY Attends SUNY ESF De-Stress Event

PAWS of CNY Pet Therapy SUNY ESF

PAWS of CNY volunteers recently attended a de-stress event for the students at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Foresty (SUNY ESF). The event was held indoors in Marshall Hall, due to rain, but the weather did not dampen the enjoyment of the event. For the students who were preparing for the stress-filled, year-end pressures that come along with the dreaded finals week, the de-stress event offered an opportunity to take a much needed break in the name of wellness.

PAWS of CNY Visits University Students at De-Stress Event

On April 24, two of PAWS of CNY’s volunteer teams visited with students at Upstate University to help them to de-stress during finals week. Margaret Abrahamson and her australian shepherd Feather, and Anna Mayerhofer and her dachshund Lumpi, spent a few hours at Upstate University’s Health Science Library at Weiskotten Hall to give some much-appreciated stress-relief to visiting students.

Thank you to SRC for inviting PAWS of CNY to attend their employee volunteer fair. The purpose of the event was to educate SRC’s employees on volunteer opportunities in the community. Kit McDonald and her golden retriever Buddy attended the event along with Sylvia Taub.

An Artistic Tribute to One of Our Volunteers

After meeting volunteer Anna Mayerhofer and her dachshund Lumpi at a student wellness education event, Baldwinsville High School Student Allison Brown created this beautiful drawing for Lumpi! It is a beautiful tribute and an excellent depiction of the real Lumpi! Thank you Allison for sharing your artwork with us!
