Once again Sunshine Friends participated in Syracuse University’s De-Stress Event. The event is aimed at helping students to take a break from the stress of winter finals and spend much needed time mentally and physically resting and relaxing. On December 7th six SFI volunteer teams were available in the Schine Student Center between 10:00 pm and 11:30 pm for students to come and experience the calming benefits of interacting with our therapy dogs.

Introducing PAWS of CNY, Inc.!
The Board of Directors is proud to announce that Sunshine Friends, Inc. is now PAWS of CNY, Inc.!
Why the Name Change?
Sunshine Friends was founded in 1998 and incorporated the following year by three inspiring women who shared a goal of creating an organization in Central New York that would connect the therapeutic healing benefits of animals with people in need.
While the purpose of our organization has not changed since our inception, we have continued to grow and expand in both our service offering and in the communities that we serve.

SFI and Elmcrest Take a Break for Wellness
On November 22nd a group of SFI volunteers attended the “Take a Break” for Wellness event at Elmcrest Children’s Center. SFI has been proud to partner with Elmcrest’s children’s reading program for several years, so when the staff at Elmcrest wanted to host a wellness event for their own employees, they turned to SFI to help their staff de-stress!
