PAWS of CNY was proud to support the SPCA of Central New York’s Halloween-themed adoption event on Saturday October 25. This year’s Hawling Harvest Jamboree took place at the Hearth at Green Point, a facility that PAWS of CNY has been proud to support with pet assisted wellness services for the past several years. A smiling group of PAWS of CNY volunteers attended this year’s Hawling Harvest event to show support for the SPCA and to share information with prospective new pet owners about the benefits of pet therapy work.

PAWS of CNY Teaches Eagle Wings Academy Students About Pet Therapy
When tasked with a community service education project, students at Eagle Wings Academy knew exactly what type of community service group they wanted to learn more about: PAWS of CNY and its therapy dogs. Eagle Wings Academy exists to offer a Christ-centered, Biblically-based education to urban children. PAWS of CNY volunteer Carol Slagle met with Eagle Wings Academy students on October 23 with her miniature labradoodle, Jack, to teach the students about PAWS of CNY and the benefits of therapy dog work.

PAWS of CNY Attends Oswego College Mental Health Awareness Event
Over one hundred students turned out for Oswego College’s Mental Health Awareness event on October 7, and the highlight, for many, was the opportunity to visit with PAWS of CNY’s therapy dog teams. The event was held on the campus quad, and encouraged students to participate in a variety of stress reduction activities.

PAWS of CNY Brings Smiles to OCC's first Stress Reduction Expo
The students at Onondaga Community College (OCC) successfully hosted their first stress reduction event for students on October 8. The event brought several wellness-themed organizations and activities to the campus quad, including some of PAWS of CNY’s therapy dog teams. PAWS of CNY volunteer Jody Satalin attended the event with her golden retriever Cooper.
