Children's Bookfair with the Syracuse Chiefs Brings Book-Lovers and Dog-Lovers Together

Lumpi the Dachshund Earns His Therapy Dog Excellent Title
Congratulations to PAWS of CNY therapy dog Lumpi for earning the American Kennel Club’s distinguished title of Therapy Dog Excellent (THDX). In order to earn this prestigious distinction, a certified therapy dog must complete a minimum of 200 therapy visits. Congratulations to Lumpi and his owner, Anna Mayherhofer, and thank you both for all that you do to bring happiness and companionship to those in our community.
PAWS of CNY Volunteers De-Stress with SUNY Oswego
A team of PAWS of CNY volunteers and their certified therapy dogs attended a student de-stress event at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego on May 12. Among other wellness-themed activities available, students were able to sit on the quad and enjoy the emotional benefits of quality time spent with PAWS of CNY’s therapy dogs. Approximately 200 students stopped by to meet the PAWS of CNY teams.

PAWS of CNY Educates Solvay Girl Scouts
On April 29, PAWS of CNY volunteers Jenn MacArthur and Karin Laskowski and her golden retriever Piper, attended a Troop meeting for Girl Scout Troop 1065 at St. Anne’s Church in Solvay. PAWS of CNY was invited to the troop meeting to teach the girls about the benefits of pet therapy and what it takes to become a therapy dog.
