Oswego Students Receive Pet Therapy at Penfield Library
On Monday, August 28 therapy pet teams from PAWS of CNY visited the Penfield Library at SUNY Oswego. The library staff hosted the event, which took place outside on the lawn. The students at SUNY Oswego also started classes that day and were starting the new school year. This event was a de-stress event for the students, all of which were very excited to meet the PAWS of CNY certified therapy pets.
Therapy Pets Attend SUNY Oswego Lakerfest
The therapy pets of PAWS of CNY were back on campus at SUNY Oswego on Saturday, September 9 for Lakerfest to enjoy the festivities. Lakerfest is an event SUNY Oswego puts on to welcome freshman and to relieve their early semester stress. As the new freshmen were beginning their college careers, PAWS of CNY’s therapy pets were there to help them settle into the start of the new semester, and ease their homesickness. The therapy pets were there from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Pet Therapy Volunteers Bring Smiles to Minoa Teal Ribbon Run
On Saturday, September 23 the 2017 Teal Ribbon Run to End Ovarian Cancer was held in the Village of Minoa’s Lewis Park. Hundreds of runners came out to show their support for our battle against this deadly disease that has taken the lives of too many women in our community. To show their support for survivors and supporters, volunteers from PAWS of CNY were in attendance providing pet therapy services.
PAWS of CNY volunteers at the event included Ken Barber and his German Shepherd Shanah, Susan Curran and her Hound Mix Rosie, Sue Fritzen and her Pit Bull Mix Olive, Christine Michel and her Golden Retriever Scrappy, Ronna Richardson and her Golden Retriever Cody, Joanne Shibley and her Pug Quincey, and John and Sue Stepien and their Bernese Mountain Dog Stella.
