Children from the Brady Faith Center in Syracuse were treated to an educational visit from PAWS of CNY’s therapy dogs on Wednesday, July 19. The purpose of the event was to help educate the children about the benefits of pet therapy, and about the power of animals to heal the soul.

We are pleased to announce that our volunteer, Wendy Davenport, and her therapy dog Fiona, are finalists in the Today’s Options® Champions contest!
The award competition was created to recognize the exceptional achievements of people in Central New York. It recognizes those champions who have made a significant difference in the well-being of older adults and our local community.

The volunteers of PAWS of CNY marched in the annual Manlius 4th of July Parade again this year. Participation in the annual parade by PAWS of CNY’s therapy dogs has become an annual tradition that volunteers and their pets look forward to. The opportunity to showcase its services, and show support for those who have served in the armed forces, is an honor that PAWS of CNY enjoys.

PAWS of CNY volunteers were at it again at the Nine Mile Point Annual Wellness Fair outside of the Exelon Nuclear Plant. The event took place on Thursday June 29, under a tent set up in an open lot. The therapy pets were able to brighten the visitors’ day even though the skies were cloudy, and the rain was pouring.
