Thank you to SRC for inviting PAWS of CNY to attend their employee volunteer fair. The purpose of the event was to educate SRC’s employees on volunteer opportunities in the community. Kit McDonald and her golden retriever Buddy attended the event along with Sylvia Taub.

An Artistic Tribute to One of Our Volunteers

After meeting volunteer Anna Mayerhofer and her dachshund Lumpi at a student wellness education event, Baldwinsville High School Student Allison Brown created this beautiful drawing for Lumpi! It is a beautiful tribute and an excellent depiction of the real Lumpi! Thank you Allison for sharing your artwork with us!

Oswego College Students Hold 2nd Annual Zumbathon Fundraiser for PAWS of CNY

For the second year in a row, PAWS of CNY was the grateful beneficiary of donations earned by Oswego College students during a four-hour Zumbathon event. This year’s event was held in the Swetman gymnasium on the Oswego College campus. Attendees zumbaed their way to fitness from 1:00pm – 5:00 pm while raising money for PAWS of CNY. PAWS of CNY Attends the L.C. Smith College of Engineering Winter Carnival

On Tuesday February 18th PAWS of CNY attended the Winter Carnival event at Syracuse University’s L.C. Smith College of Engineering. The event allowed the engineering students at L.C. Smith College to take a well-deserved break from intense study and enjoy a variety of fun and stress-busting activities.

Baldwinsville Students Learn About Pet Therapy

On Friday February 14th PAWS of CNY Volunteers attended a day of learning for Baldwinsville middle school students. Students were encouraged to sign-up for various hour-long sessions on a variety of wellness topics, which included the option to learn about Pet Assisted Wellness Services from PAWS of CNY.

Please be sure to have electronic copies of proof of rabies vaccination and an annual health screening form(signed by your vet) including a negative fecal test within the last calendar year before you begin. If you have flown in or out of the Syracuse Hancoc If you have flown in or out of the Syracuse Hancock Airport, you may have seen one of our teams!PAWS of CNY partners with Syracuse Regional Airport Authority where 17 teams staff the SYR PET - Pets Easing Travelers program and spent 562 hours at SYR in 2025.  Nearly 130 hours have been spent in the first 4 months of 2026! These experienced volunteer teams have each have earned their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification and logged at least 50 hours in a variety of pet therapy visits (e.g. long-term care facilities, college campuses, hospitals, schools, etc.) They also have to pass the Homeland Security screening.#airporttherapydogs #SRAA #happytravelers
