PAWS of CNY was pleased to again participate in the Elmcrest “Take a Break for Wellness” event. The annual event aims to encourage teachers and staff members at Elmcrest Children’s Center to learn about wellness-based organizations in the community. Elmcrest Children’s Center is a multi-service treatment and education center for children with emotional and behavioral needs. PAWS of CNY’s therapy dog teams have been visiting with students at Elmcrest for the past several years. Le Moyne Students De-Stress with PAWS of CNY
PAWS of CNY’s student de-stress season is in full swing. On Wednesday, November 18, PAWS of CNY volunteers attended a student de-stress event at LeMoyne College. The goal of the event was to provide LeMoyne students with an opportunity to receive some much deserved relaxation, and a break from the stresses of their studies. Oswego Students De-Stress with PAWS of CNY Therapy Dogs
On Monday, November 16, PAWS of CNY had the opportunity to participate in a student de-stress event at SUNY Oswego. The event aimed to give Oswego students an opportunity to focus on some much-needed and well-deserved mental health in the midst of exams, homework assignments, studying, and activities. Soup Bone Foundation Makes Memorial Donation to PAWS of CNY
The 4th Annual Soup Bone Golf Tournament was held on Sunday, September 27 at Millstone Golf Course in Elbridge. The event honors Florence Peters who was a dedicated PAWS of CNY (formerly Sunshine Friends, Inc.) volunteer. Flo was a special woman who loved dogs and was a committed member of our organization. Flo and her husband Jim started an annual golf tournament event several years ago, and the tournament now lives on in Flo’s memory.

PAWS of CNY Celebrates its Volunteers
The goal of PAWS of CNY is to bring warmth, comfort, and companionship to those in need in our community. This lofty goal could not be accomplished without the dedication and commitment of its over 150 volunteers and their pets. Our volunteers give selflessly of their time, and their pets, to help individuals in Central New York who are in need of emotional support. As an organization managed entirely by volunteers, every aspect of PAWS of CNY’s operations run on donated time – an impressive accomplishment for an organization that services five counties in Central New York.
