PAWS of CNY was pleased to participate in “Healthy Monday” on Monday, September 29. The event, organized by two resident hall activity directors at Syracuse University, aimed to promote an afternoon of stress-free wellness for students living at Day and Flint residence halls, located on Syracuse University’s “Mount Olympus.” The event was part of the “Mondays on the Mount” activity series for the two residence halls.

PAWS of CNY Supports SU/ESF Shack-a-Thon
PAWS of CNY was proud to support the 6th annual Syracuse University and SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Shack-a-Thon to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Students who participate in the event construct and sponsor a shack on the University Quad and then spend time in the structure for three days and two nights. Various events take place on the Quad during the event, encouraging students to come out and visit the camping students. PAWS of CNY offered camping students, and their visitors, a warm, friendly paw for two hours on Thursday September 25.

Volunteer Teams Give 100 Hours of Service
Congratulations to two of our volunteer teams: Anna Mayerhofer and Lumpi, and Ronna Richardson and Cody. These two volunteer teams have given over 100 hours of therapy dog volunteer service to the community, earning the American Kennel Club’s Advanced Therapy Dog Title. Congratulations to Anna, Lumpi, Ronna, and Cody and thank you for your commitment to our community!!
PAWS of CNY – Proud Supporter of The Soup Bone
Florence Peters was a dedicated PAWS of CNY (formerly Sunshine Friends, Inc.) volunteer. Flo was a special woman who loved dogs and was a committed member of our organization. Flo and her husband Jim started an annual golf tournament event several years ago, and the tournament now lives on in Flo’s memory. For the past two years, the Soup Bone Foundation has been kind enough to donate a portion of the event’s proceeds to both Hospice of the Finger Lakes, and PAWS of CNY.
