PAWS of CNY Volunteers Attend De-Stress Event at SU Hall of Languages

On Tuesday, November 8, PAWS of CNY volunteers attended a de-stress event at Syracuse University’s Hall of Languages. Volunteer attendees included Sue Stepien and her Bernese Mountain Dog Stella, Kathy Reynolds and her Golden Doodle Sadie, and Peggy Byrne and her Golden Retriever Ellie.

Quite a few students attended and they loved petting and interacting with the dogs.

PAWS of CNY regularly attends de-stress events at colleges and universities around Central New York to provide comfort, warmth, and much-needed smiles to students in need of relaxation during the rigors of mid-terms and finals. Studies have shown that even a small amount of time spent with a loving animal can reduce stress, increase endorphins, lower blood pressure, and increase laughter-just some of the many benefits of pet therapy.

A great time was had by both the students and the PAWS of CNY volunteers at the event at the Hall of Languages.
