At PAWS of CNY, we are proud to do a tremendous amount of work in our community by bringing pet therapy to those in need. Helping people of all ages feel better and brighten their days, whether it’s visiting a school, nursing home, or allowing people to meet our therapy pets at a community event, is how we give back. We are proud to serve our community every day, and are honored to have been recognized by Great Non-Profits as a “Top Rated Nonprofit Organization in 2017.”
Great Nonprofits is the leading platform for community-sourced stories about nonprofit organizations. These stories tell about all the good that its organizations have done for their clients, donors, volunteers, and communities. A seal from Great Nonprofits has been said to be “the second most trusted rating seal, behind the Better Business Bureau” according to a study by Software Advice. Their most prestigious award is the “Top-Rated” Award. In order for an organization to be qualified for the “Top-Rated” award it must claim its nonprofit, invite clients, donors, and volunteers to share their stories, get at least 10 positive stories within a campaign period, receive 10 or more four or five star ratings, or maintain an average rating of at least 3.5 stars.
Winning this award will help further PAWS of CNY’s efforts to recruit applicants with a desire to give back to the community and further bond with their pets in a meaningful way.
Their official list of “Top-Rated Nonprofits” will be announced after October 31 of this year.
“This truly is a great honor to be recognized as a Top-Rated Nonprofit Organization.” Said PAWS of CNY Inc. President Jessica Marabella. “For us, the most meaningful part of earning the Top-Rated Award is knowing that we’ve had so many volunteers, partners, and community members willing to share their experiences, and rate those experiences with our organization so highly. This award helps to validate the work that we do every day, and proves to us that we are meeting our goal of improving the lives of those in need.”
Marabella continued, “I would like to thank Great Nonprofits for recognizing us as a Top-Rated Nonprofit organization. I would also like to thank the communities of Central New York for allowing us to share with them our therapy pets and welcoming us into their facilities. Of course, I also want to thank our wonderful volunteers, and their amazing pets. They have made what we do that much more special, and we could not exist without them.”
