The volunteers of PAWS of CNY marched in the annual Manlius 4th of July Parade again this year. Participation in the annual parade by PAWS of CNY’s therapy dogs has become an annual tradition that volunteers and their pets look forward to. The opportunity to showcase its services, and show support for those who have served in the armed forces, is an honor that PAWS of CNY enjoys.
The PAWS of CNY handlers and their therapy pets marched along the annual parade route through the village of Manlius, and were able to enjoy the sunshine. PAWS of CNY board member, Beth Tollar, enjoyed seeing PAWS of CNY marching in the parade again.
“The weather was perfect, and the crowds were very enthusiastic and appreciative!” said Tollar.
The annual July 4 parade is one of many signature events that occurs each year as part of the Village of Manlius’s July 4 festivities. The day begins with a Pancake Breakfast at St. Ann’s Church, and is capped off by a fireworks display at dusk.
We would like to thank the volunteers who marched in the parade with their pets, and for bringing their families. We would also like say a special thank you to the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country, keeping us safe and to preserve the freedoms we are given today.
