PAWS of CNY volunteers were at it again at the Nine Mile Point Annual Wellness Fair outside of the Exelon Nuclear Plant. The event took place on Thursday June 29, under a tent set up in an open lot. The therapy pets were able to brighten the visitors’ day even though the skies were cloudy, and the rain was pouring.
Therapy pets and handlers that attended the event included Diane Rogers and Mary Berger with their Shih Tzu Sammy, Holly Besaw with her cat Hector, Joy Hawksby with her Golden Retriever Hali, Sue Vaughn with her Black Lab Mix Bert, Martha Sturtz and her Golden Retriever Flyer, and Dianne Restuccio and her Golden Retriever Enzo. All of the dogs, and cat, were very welcoming to all of the visitors.
Not only could people come by and spend some time with our therapy pets, people could enjoy getting their face painted, a bubble man who entertained the people with bubbles, great food, and many other vendors. There were tons of fun activities for people to enjoy and the therapy pets from PAWS of CNY had just as much fun meeting new people.
Even though the skies were gloomy, our volunteers were still able to make everyone’s day just a little brighter.
