The students at the Whitman School have worked hard all semester. They’ve been studying, taking tests, writing papers, and learning complex theories and concepts. As they work toward the end of the semester and for many, graduation, they all deserve to take a much needed break. To help them de-stress, volunteers from PAWS of CNY were on site with certified therapy dogs to help them rest, relax, smile, and breathe.
PAWS of CNY volunteers Linda LeMessurier and her Golden Retriever Calla Lilly, Mary Jane Nathan and her Bijon Frise Moxie, and Martina St. Leger and her Labrador/Hound mix Poppy, were all on site in the lobby of the Whitman School greeting students and encouraging them to slow down and destress.
The students were incredible appreciative of the volunteers who attended the event. They shared stories of their dogs at home, laughed with one another, and took the opportunity to smile and maybe procrastinate final projects and studying for just a little while longer.
Throughout the year, PAWS of CNY volunteers attend campus events, particularly during finals week and midterms, to visit with students and offer them some much-needed comfort and love.
