Syracuse University Students Destress Before Finals with Therapy Dogs

Syracuse_University_De-Stress_Event_Watson_Hall_Stella_Banner

It was a rainy day in Syracuse, but there was warmth, love, laughter, and smiles inside Watson Hall at Syracuse University on Wednesday, April 19. PAWS of CNY therapy dogs were on-site to help encourage students to rest, relax, and destress as they prepared for the upcoming finals weeks.

PAWS of CNY volunteers lounged with students, who also snacked on food, and even made rope toys for the dogs. The event was attended by Lisa Garofalo and her Yellow Labrador Dutch, Christina Nappi and her Pomeranian Mix Charlie, Mary Jane Nathan and her Bijon Frise Moxy, Martina St. Leger and her Labrador/Hound Mix Poppy, Susan Stepien and her Bernese Mountain Dog Stella, and Jessica Marabella and her Boston Terrier Aberdeen.

The students were kind enough to give each of the dogs equal love and attention, politely rotating from dog to dog, sharing laughter and smiles, belly rubs, and selfies with each one. Students who walked into the event seeming anxious left smiling and laughing, having made new friends.
