Barnes & Noble Bookfair Raises Money for PAWS of CNY

On Sunday, December 11, PAWS of CNY held a bookfair fundraiser at Barnes & Noble in Clay. PAWS of CNY volunteers offered free gift wrapping, and provided information to store visitors about their PAWS of CNY pet assisted wellness programs. Several PAWS of CNY certified therapy pets were in the store throughout the day, greeting shoppers.

The afternoon also included a special children’s storybook reading by PAWS of CNY Vice President Beth Tollar and her certified therapy dog and Golden Retriever Cooper.

A portion of all proceeds from the sales of the event will benefit PAWS of CNY. Donations allow PAWS of CNY to offer free pet therapy services to over 50 nursing homes, four hospitals, 20 schools and libraries, and several college campuses across the five counties in Central New York.

If you would like to continue to support PAWS of CNY while wrapping up your holiday shopping, any online purchases made at Barnes & Noble will still benefit PAWS of CNY when you enter bookfair voucher promotion code 12050282.

Thank you to all of the PAWS of CNY volunteers who attended Sunday’s event, including Holly Besaw and Hector the cat, Mary Berger, Diane Rogers and Sammy the Shi Tzu, Celeste Dunne and Sadie the Golden Retriever, Eric Dayton and Cody the Golden Retriever, Heather Philip and Mowgli the Labrador, Beth Tollar and Cooper the Golden Retriever, Wendy Davenport and Fiona the labradoodle, Terri Reilly Kruegger and Gemma the Spaniel, Linda Wood, Joslyn and Casey the Golden Retriever, Audrey Sauer and Cooper the Great Dane, and Pam and Aiden Southworth and their Terrier Mix Cooper and Australian Shepherd Devlin.

A huge thanks also goes out to our gift wrappers: Martina St. Leger, and Brian and Emily Tollar.
