PAWS Of CNY Attends Annual Soup Bone Golf Tournament

Soup Bone Benefits PAWS of CNY Pet Therapy

The Annual Soup Bone Golf Tournament was held on Sunday, September 25 at Millstone Golf Course in Elbridge. The event honors Florence Peters who was a dedicated PAWS of CNY (formerly Sunshine Friends, Inc.) volunteer. Flo was a special woman who loved dogs and was a committed member of our organization. Flo and her husband Jim started an annual golf tournament event several years ago, and the tournament now lives on in Flo’s memory.

This year’s events included the annual golf tournament, ball drop raffle, and soup lunch. PAWS of CNY volunteers were up to the challenge for this year’s competitions.

The PAWS of CNY golf team earned second place for the mixed flight. The team was comprised of Martina St. Leger, Jim Tollar, and Brian Tollar.

PAWS of CNY volunteer Beth Tollar also competed in the second annual Soup Bone Soup Tasting contest. Competing for the second year against representatives from Hospice of the Finger Lakes, PAWS of CNY took second place in the soup tasting competition, but plans to come back strong next year!

For the fifth year in a row, the Soup Bone Foundation has been kind enough to donate a portion of the event’s proceeds to both Hospice of the Finger Lakes, and PAWS of CNY. We are exceptionally grateful to Jim Peters and the Soup Bone committee for their ongoing support of our organization and their kind generosity.
