PAWS of CNY was pleased to attend this year’s Lorenzo Driving Competition in Cazenovia, NY. The two-day event is held every year on the grounds of the Lorenzo State Historic Site. Approximately 100 horses and carriages compete in a variety of classes including ring work, obstacles, and a cross country marathon. The event is open to the public, admission is free, and hundreds of guests attend each year.
PAWS of CNY volunteers met with interested guests throughout the weekend. PAWS of CNY volunteers Ronna Richardson and her Golden Retriever Cody, Peggy Byrne and her Golden Retriever Ellie, Lisa Baker and her Jack Russell Terrier Mix Lola, and Martina St. Leger and her Labrador Mix Dory shared information about PAWS of CNY and the pet assisted wellness services it provides to residents and patients across Central New York.
The event attendees had an opportunity to interact with PAWS of CNY’s loving and amiable therapy dogs and if anyone was interested in the organization the volunteers had brochures and volunteer applications to hand out. Many event attendees stopped by to visit and pet the dogs. It was a fun event for all and a great way for residents of Madison County to get to know more about PAWS of CNY and its pet therapy services.
