PAWS of CNY was pleased to be invited to attend the Summer Bash event at the SkyZone indoor trampoline park in DeWitt on Tuesday, June 30. Several PAWS of CNY volunteers attended the event with their certified therapy dogs to bring some extra fun and excitement to this year’s event. The Summer Bash offered SkyZone guests several extra attractions for kids looking to get their bounce on this summer.
PAWS of CNY volunteer Dusan Palider attended the event with his cockapoo, “Cat.” According to Dusan, not only did the children in attendance at the Summer Bash event enjoy the opportunity to interact with PAWS of CNY’s therapy dogs, but parents and SkyZone staff members also enjoyed the available pet therapy interaction.
PAWS of CNY provides pet assisted wellness services to patients at hospitals, residents at nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and students on college campuses. In addition, PAWS of CNY also participates in several reading programs at elementary schools and libraries across the region that allow youth to practice reading out loud to the non-judgmental ear of a furry, loving, therapy dog. When PAWS of CNY volunteers are not busy with these weekly therapeutic services, they love to introduce their therapy dogs to members of our community in unexpected places, such as at community and corporate events. The Summer Bash at SkyZone provided PAWS of CNY volunteers the perfect opportunity to meet some new kids and families in a fun, and playful setting. PAWS of CNY believes that pet therapy can benefit anyone, anywhere, at any time, which is why we appreciate the opportunity to partner with organizations such as SkyZone who realize the many benefits of pet assisted wellness services.
