Think your dog could make an outstanding therapy dog with just a few behavior and training tweaks?
PAWS of CNY’s next Therapy Dog Training class will begin on Tuesday, March 10th at the Cicero Animal Clinic, PC. Pre-registration is required.
The courses are designed to prepare dogs to pass the PAWS of CNY certification test. The training classes are not mandatory in order for a dog to be evaluated, but they are encouraged for dogs who are good candidates for pet therapy work but may need assistance perfecting some of the certification criteria. Please note that as a class prerequisite, registered dogs must know his or her name, as well as how to sit on command.
There are five classes in each session. You can choose to take all of the classes consecutively, or just sign up for the classes you feel will be most beneficial to you and your dog. The cost per class is $20. The cost of all five classes is $80.
Classes are taught by a certified professional dog trainer using positive reinforcement-based techniques to create a fun learning environment for both you and your dog!
