Flo Peters was a spirited and dedicated member of the Sunshine Friends family for many years. Since Flo passed away, her vivacious personality and commitment to the Sunshine Friends mission has been greatly missed.
Through the dedicated efforts of Flo’s husband Jim, Flo’s legacy continues to live on, and Sunshine Friends continues to honor her memory. In September of 2013, Jim Peters hosted the 2nd annual Flo’s Tournament – The Soup Bone, a memorial golf tournament, the proceeds of which in part were donated to Sunshine Friends for use toward our continuing mission of bringing happiness and wellness to members of the Central New York Community through interaction with our certified therapy pets.
This year’s event was well attended by both Sunshine Friends’ human volunteers and their ever-present furry companions.
“Flo was a kind and caring person and she brought so much to our organization through her dedication and her passion for our mission,” said Danielle Basciano, President of Sunshine Friends. “Sunshine Friends is honored to be a part of any event that pays tribute to Flo and we are extremely grateful to Jim Peters for the generous donation that he has given to our organization.” For more information about For Peters and The Soup Bone Foundation, visit www.soup-bone.org.
